Support for the EVTX Event Log System

Hyena v9.0 is the first version to offer support for the newer EVTX (sometime referred to as 'Crimson') event log format. The newer EVTX format was introduced in Windows Vista, and carried over to Windows 7 and Windows 2008. Although similar in appearance to the older EVT log format, the EVTX system is entirely new and in some cases incompatible with the older EVT system originally introduced in Windows NT 3.50.

Hyena x64 has met the Microsoft 'Compatible with Windows 7' logo requirements.

As Windows 7 continues to be adopted, Hyena has in turn evolved to both take advantage of Windows 7 capabilities as well as address compatibility issues.  Hyena versions 8.0 and later are all time-tested for Windows 7, yet also support running on established Windows operating systems, including Windows XP, Windows 2000/2003 and Windows 2008.
